What brought you to Mission West Insurance?
Having been in the industry for 30+ years, I am fully aware of the ever changing needs of my clients. Everything from Compliance, technology to first class customer service. I was looking for a company that I believed has the same values and would strive to always be above par with offering these value adds to my clients and Mission West fulfilled all of these requirements.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Developing, growing and maintaining the relationships with my clients as well as earning their trust that I will always be there to assist them with any and all of their needs. Clients often become friends which is just the icing on the cake for me.
What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
My ability to stay current with the ever changing insurance industry. I have seen how the industry has changed over the years and I have been able to adapt to that that is new whether the change is good or bad. I also pride myself on my very high client retention numbers.
What is your favorite book and why?
The Help. Skeeter (main character) was not afraid to stand up for what was right and to shed light on that that wasn’t regardless of the consequences. I am always willing to fight for what is right and fair.
What is the best advice you have ever been given?
As a young teen while working with my Aunt at a doctor’s office, she ingrained in me to never be lazy, always follow through and that the work is never done. That there is always something more to be done to better the office/organization.
Who do you respect most in the industry and why?
Any carrier or vendor rep. that is quick to respond and follows through with a request in a timely manner.
Sharon Edson has been in the insurance industry since 1988. Sharon began her career on the carrier side. Sharon started her insurance career in 1988 working for FHP as an Account Manager and remained with the company and helped see them through two company acquisitions and mergers. Sharon left the carrier side in 1998 to assist her family in starting their own broker agency. Sharon helped run the agency for 15 years before deciding to partner with another brokerage. Sharon has always worked on the client service side of the business and has been a Sr. Account Executive for years. Sharon brings with her a wealth of knowledge of selling and administering employee benefits. Sharon prides herself on her prompt follow through on any and all client inquiries and if she doesn’t know the answer, she will find it.
Sharon is a mother of 3 grown children and she resides in Rancho Santa Margarita.
